Jaron May

Sports Reporter

Jaron May joined WLWT as a sports anchor/reporter in April 2025. Jaron grew up in a competitive family and played almost every sport under the sun. He thrived most on the basketball court and ski slopes. Knowing he wasn't going pro, Jaron switched over to the broadcasting side of sports.

Prior to coming to the Queen City, Jaron worked for Hearst-owned WBBH and WZVN in Fort Myers, FL. While in Southwest Florida, he was named Sportscaster of the Year in the Sunshine State by the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists, and was nominated for a regional Emmy. Jaron covered all levels of sports — from youth up to the pros — including MLB Spring Training, three straight ECHL titles for the Everblades, Florida Gulf Coast University's teams, and everything in between. He also did play-by-play for two local colleges, including FGCU.

Jaron was born and raised outside of Boston, MA. He was very spoiled when it came to his favorite teams, growing up in the era of Tom Brady and David Ortiz. Jaron attended Syracuse University where he was the Sports Director at WAER and involved with numerous other outlets including ESPN-owned ACC Network. He traveled to two Super Bowls, including Super Bowl LVI when the Bengals played the Rams.

Outside of work, you can find Jaron working on his golf game, training for triathlons, or binging his favorite show.
